6,000 Bottles of Hand Rub and 200 food hampers for the Community of Dunoon

Donation made by Protea Chemicals and Albion Chemicals
To help fight the spread of COVID-19, Protea Chemicals (a division of Omnia Holdings that manufactures and distributes specialty, functional and effect chemicals) is collaborating with Albion Chemicals (manufacturer of household cleaning products) to donate 6,000 bottles of hand rub to the Cape Town community of Dunoon.
Peter du Plessis, Protea Chemicals, GM: Sourcing and Planning said, “Slowing down the rate of COVID-19 infections is the most pressing concern globally. We are committed to contributing in whatever way we can to help flatten the curve. With at least 35 Protea Chemicals employees residing in Dunoon and considering that the community is among the most vulnerable to COVID-19, nationally, we took the collective decision to begin our roll-out of hand rub in this area.”
In recent months, Protea Chemicals re-purposed its Killarney Gardens (Cape Town) production facility to manufacture hand rub, in accordance with The World Health Organisation’s formulation guidelines. Albion Chemicals has facilitated the distribution
